The Doily Duck's Top 3 Fashion Favorites: 2016 S.A.G. Awards

The 22nd Annual Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards, the middle child of Hollywood's glorified award season, took place last Saturday evening at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles. I was definitely more impressed with the SAG Awards red carpet parade than this past Golden Globes - which was a nice change of scenery! And compared to last year's SAG Awards it was slightly a step up with more daring and gorgeous dresses and an array of suits comprised of your not-so-typical black tuxedo!

And here are my favorite fashion picks of the 2016 Screen Actors Guild Awards:

LADIES - Top 3

1. Alicia Vikander

Actress Alicia Vikander easily grabbed my top spot for the SAG Awards fashion fave of the night for the ladies. She wore a gorgeous check-patterned Louis Vuitton gown that shimmered in a sea of metallic, black, and white sequins. Along with this very retro-mod boat neck style look, it had a daring split along the side that reached thigh high. Her whole look was effortless yet was a total show stopper! Congrats to Alicia for also winning the SAG Award for Best Supporting Actress for "The Danish Girl".

2. Brie Larson

Actress Brie Larson looked absolutely stunning in her body-hugging light blue Spring '16 Atelier Versace gown. Her look was all about the details and there were a lot! First, I loved the twisted neckline that draped above the cutout along her neck revealing a bit of side boob cleavage. Then there was all that rhinestone details spotted once on her upper left shoulder and more where her dress is gathered and tied at the waist. Of course there was also that thigh-high slit and that unique orangey red strap across her back that matched the color of her lips! I also loved her Tiffany diamond drop earrings that looked amazing with her twisted back hair bun. Bravo! And congrats to Brie for taking home the SAG Award for Best Actress for "Room".

3. Queen Latifah

Actress and musician Queen Latifah looked beautiful in her long-sleeved Michael Costello dress. Her black sequined gown was embellished with intricate geometric patterns that echoed both a vintage yet modern feel to it. Her Fred Leighton jewelry especially those earrings were gorgeous and, most of all, I loved her faux-hawk bun hairstyle! And congrats to Queen Latifah for winning the SAG Award for Best Actress for her role in "Bessie".

Top 3 - Gentlemen

1. Idris Elba

Actor Idris Elba looked smashingly hot and handsome in his dark blue Ermenegildo Zegna suit and Christian Louboutin shoes. His suit should thank him for making it look so good! And congratulations to Idris for winning not one, but two SAG Awards for Best Supporting Actor in "Beasts of No Nation" and Best Actor for "Luther".

2. Christian Bale

Actor and my number one pretend boyfriend Christian Bale wore an all-black Dolce & Gabbana suit. And Christian looked, as always, very handsome and somewhat villainous-hot in his dark attire. And I can't forget to mention that it was Christian's 42nd Birthday that evening! Happy Birthday, Christian!!!

3. Pedro Pascal
Actor Pedro Pascal looked very sharp in his velvet-trimmed Dolce & Gabbana suit with bow tie. I loved his 1970s groomed mustache with his slightly messy bouffant. And I also loved how his pants were quite fitted! Rrraahh!!!

Hottest "On-Stage" Couple of the Night
Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra and Pedro Pascal were my pick for "Hottest On-Stage Couple of the Night"! Presenting the SAG award for Outstanding Male Actor in a Drama Series, Priyanka looked stunning and Pedro just the same, and I am certain that together they would both make beautiful babies!!!

I hope you enjoyed my fashion favorites for the 2016 SAG Awards! Looking forward to the #OscarsSoWhite Awards in several more weeks. And unlike the Oscar nominations of this year and last, I hope the red carpet will bring some amazingly diverse fashion to WOW over! Also, I can't wait to see who will be crowned Best Dressed Duck and Drake for the 4th Annual Golden Doily Duck Award exclusively for the Academy Awards!
